January 13, 2020

Today is Monday, January 13th and it is an A Day.

High School Teachers, please remember to distribute second semester schedules during this period.  If you have a question, please reach out to your grade level counselor; if you have a schedule for a student who did not show up to your first period, please return the schedule to the front office.  If you forgot to pick up your schedules, please send a student to Dr. Geiger’s office to retrieve them. Middle School schedules were sent to teachers last week for distribution.

Reminder about the open-interest softball event on the softball field from 2-4 PM on Wednesday open to any middle or high school girls. There will be food, music, fun activities, and a chance to find out more about whether softball is the team sport for you.

All UNICEF students, this Wednesday January 15th is our school cleaning day. Please see Mrs. Santiago after school on Wednesday.

All students helping with the UNICEF Bake sale please remember that the bake sale has been move to January 23rd and 24th

Science Olympiad will not meet on Tuesday, January 14. Team members are welcome to come by Mrs. Davis’s room, Q502, today after school to prepare for their events. All permission forms for Saturday’s competition need to be turned in as soon as possible.

For those folks who have recently started driving, you must have a parking decal to park on the PKY campus.  Please purchase your decal in the business office by next Thursday, January 16th. For those students parking in the south lot, please only park in designated parking spaces.  Senior painted spaces are up for grabs after 8:00 AM. If all the spaces are taken, you must park in the gravel lot near the business office.  PLEASE do NOT park along the fence lines, as this blocks access to the exit at dismissal and causes gridlock. Please do not park on curbs or the grass.

Did you know that in the winter, caterpillars and chrysalises go into diapause, or hibernation?  Their bodies begin producing antifreeze to survive frigid temperatures and their growth is paused.  If you found this fascinating, pollinators Club is the place for you! Come to the Pollinators Club meeting today during middle school lunch in room H121. We will set a time to work on the garden after school.

The P7 Club will meet tomorrow during lunch in Mrs. Janicke’s room.
