International Activities

With a growing focus on global awareness and cultural competence for today’s and tomorrow’s students, P.K. Yonge offers numerous ways for students to engage in internationally focused activities.

China | PKY-NJEIS Exchange

P.K. Yonge has been connected with the Nanjing Experimental International School (NJEIS) in China since 2012, sending our first delegation of students to NJEIS in the spring of 2013. Since that time over 100 students from our two schools have participated in the exchange program and deepened the connection between our two schools, and our two countries. Each time, students learn more about China, about themselves, and about their own place in a global context.  Needs-based scholarships supported 6 travelers on our 2017 visit and are available for 2019. Applications forthcoming.

Travel Dates for 2019: Wednesday, November 13 – Monday, November 25
Host a Visiting Student 2020: Stay tuned!

Spanish Language + Culture | Rosa Rabell Scholarship

The Rosa Rabell Spanish Language Study Scholarship is named in honor of P.K. Yonge’s retired Spanish language teacher, the beloved Señora Rosa Rabell.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a deserving P.K. Yonge student to study the Spanish language and culture in Costa Rica.  The student will stay with a host family and will participate in an immersion program to expand their knowledge of the Spanish language.

This experience includes airfare, transportation, lodging, regional-style meals, guided sightseeing, entrances to museums, and more. Students will be responsible for obtaining a passport, providing meal money including tips, and providing money for personal expenses.
