Student: Ana Barrientos Accepted for Rotary Exchange

January 6, 2017

Congratulations to Ana Barrientos on being accepted to the Rotary Youth Exchange Scholarship Program!

A senior this year, Ana decided that a gap year would be an excellent way to prepare for a future in international relations and learn yet another language – she already speaks English, Spanish, and French.

After quite a rigorous application process, the Rotary Exchange program offers participants a year abroad hosted by a local family. Participants live like members of the family, go to school, volunteer, learn a language, and experience a different culture from the inside out.

With Slovakia, The Czech Republic, and Greenland as initial options, Ana’s final destination for her exchange will be Germany. She’s eager to learn how to live a normal life in a different cultural context, while focusing on being open-minded and serving as an ambassador for Rotary, her family, and for the United States.

Ana joins a group of P.K. Yonge Rotary alum including Gentry Allen, Emily Westlake, Brooke Allen, Savannah Branch, Rachel Exilbirt (in Spain for the 2016-17 school year).

Congratulations Ana!
