Today is Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 and today is an A Day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

School picture day has been rescheduled for this Thursday, Sept. 21st. Please come to school looking your best.

This year PK is holding our first ever DM Homecoming Dance, but we need your opinion on what you want. There is a google form that all high school students must fill out on PK’s student government twitter @PKYongeGov. This form is very important so please do that ASAP. Let’s have a great homecoming dance.

Coding Club is meeting today during power hour in Q – 506. No experience need 6-12 welcome! First timers welcome!

Middle School Softball Club will begin 9/28 after school from 2:45 – 3:45. Please see Mr. Steffens or the info on PK website for details. There’s still time to sign up.

There will be a girls’ soccer interest today at 12pm in Coach Hazan’s portable.  All interested girls please attend.

The September Scholarship Newsletter is available! There are many scholarships for seniors, so please visit the PK Yonge website or the School Counseling Twitter to take a look.

The interest meeting for the American Sign Language club is today during high school power hour in Mr. Moody’s Art Room, N-371.

The first meeting of the Marine Science Club will take place today during Power Hour in Ms. Andrews’ room. All Marine Science students are welcome to attend.

Anyone interested in playing men’s lacrosse please come to an interest meeting on Thursday, September 21st in front of the gym at the beginning of power hour.

High School Practice sessions for the All-State Musicianship exam this week will occur today and Thursday during Power hour in Dr. Harris’ room.

Students interested in participating in the Rosa Rabell scholarship please see Mrs. Santiago after school this week.

There will be no Power Hour in the Library due to testing.  Please plan accordingly.

Members of the Hispanic Heritage Celebration committee should report to Ms. Cheveallier’s room during Power Hour today.

Thespian Club members— Please note:  If you are planning to sell Yankee Candles, please pick up your sale materials in J-309.

Homecoming Week begins next week. The theme and title of Homecoming Week is: “Yonge Entertainment Television.

Get ready to show your school spirit all week by dressing up for the following Dress up Days:

      • Monday- Marvel Monday
      • Tuesday-  TV Tuesday
      • Wednesday- Walt Disney Wednesday 
      • Thursday- Time Travel Thursday
      • Friday- Fired Up Friday (Spirit Day)

Also get ready for Dime Wars. The grade level who raises the most money for Dime Wars will have a pizza party for everyone in the grade in both middle and high school.

Don’t forget to attend the High Tide Pep rally in the PAC on Thursday September 28that 7pm.

After cheering the football team to victory Friday night we will have the Homecoming Dance in the Gym. The dance will start at 9pm and end at midnight. It costs $10 to go to the dance. You should dress in semi-formal clothing.
