Today is Thursday, August 17^th and it’s an A day. This means you attend periods 1, 2, & 3.

Please have your lunch number ready when you move through the line.  When you do not know your lunch number, it slows the line down.

POWER HOUR:

Today is our first chance to have a full Power Hour.  Please make plans for how to best use your time.

Middle School will have the following options:

• 6th Grade Advisory
• First Priority in Mrs. Rodriguez’s Room Z1428
• Gaming Club in Mr. Simpson’s Room J304
• Science Olympiad in Mrs. Sheppard’s Room N385
• The following teachers have Office Hours: Breil, Mundorf, Pringle,  and Simpson

High School Students have the following options:

• Engineering Club in Mr. Simpson’s room J304
• Key Club Officers Meeting in Mrs. Andrews Room
• Science Olympiad in Mrs. Sheppard’s Room N385
• Yoga with Mrs. Harding in the PAC
• Mindfulness with Dr. Allison in M347
• The following teachers have Office Hours: Beyer, Boehm, Boulware, Linne, McCrea, Moody, Perez, Rodriguez,  and Santiago

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The National Honor Society meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, August 28^st during Power Hour in Dr. Weller’s room, M350. This year’s membership is posted outside her room.

There will be a meeting for Key Club officers today during Power Hour in Ms. Andrews’ room  All officers, please plan to attend, and bring your great service ideas for this year!

Our PKY Fall Play will be Dracula! Scripts are available in room J-309.  Auditions will be Thursday, August 24^th at 2:45pm.

The first week of school means our sports seasons kick-off real soon! Interested in becoming a sports-journalist? Attend the WaveRunner Interest Meeting on Thursday, August 17^th at 11:45am in room J-307 to find out how and join the squad.

Power Hour FAQs are now available on the website under the Academics Tab. Today will be out first Power Hour.

Tomorrow will be a Spirit Day at PK Yonge.  Please plan on wearing school colors, school shirts, and any other Blue Wave gear you have to help us rev up for the first football game of the year.  We will celebrate our PKY pride during a Power Hour Pep Rally.  High School students, come to the gym for the Pep Rally from 11:45-12:15; Middle School students come celebrate from 12:15-12:45.

Because of the Solar Eclipse on Monday, all classes will end at 11:45. Since Monday is an A day, periods 1, 2, and 3 will meet for 70 minutes each. Secondary students may pick up a lunch to go from the cafeteria.  All students should be off campus by 12:15.  There will be no school-sponsored outdoor activities.  Please check the school website for more information.
