Back-to-School Bulletin #2

We have less than a week to go before the first day of school and we are excited to welcome you all back to campus! Below is our second Back-to-School Bulletin that shares information for all students as well as division-specific information. Please be sure to read all the information pertinent to you and your children.

ALL FAMILIES

NEW ENTRANCE | Campus Visitors, Drop-Off, Pick-Up, Parking, Traffic | Details 
There are significant updates to our Drop-Off, Pick-Up, Parking, and Traffic procedures.

Main Entrance: 1200 SW 6th St. Elementary drop-off/pick-up, visitor entrance/parking
South (Gym) Entrance: SW 10th Terr. via SW 16th Ave. Middle/high drop-off/pick-up
West Entrance: 1080 SW 11th St. Faculty entrance and deliveries only
North Lot Entrance: Student drivers/student parking only. See Details
South (Gym) Lot: Faculty & Staff Parking

Attendance | Details

Campus Health
Families may review Campus Health for current information. Updates or changes will be shared as soon as information becomes available. Families may also be interested in attending a town hall meeting hosted by UF Health on August 9 at 6:30pm: To register: COVID-19, the delta variant and kids in the classroom

Clinic | Details
For information about the clinic, including forms for medications to be administered on campus.

Debts | Details

Library | Details
Library services are located in the learning commons in the secondary building and in the meadow in the elementary building. For reviews and other book-related info, check out the Hidden Library Blog.

Lunch/Cafeteria | Details
All meals are provided free for all students for the 2021-22 school year.

School Safety | Details

Skyward – Family/Emergency Contact Information
Skyward Family Access opens August 9 after 4:00pm. Families will receive an email asking them to set up credentials and update emergency contact information.

Supervision | Details
7:30am – 3:00pm
(M, T, Th, F)  | 7:30am-2:00pm (Wed). Secondary students must leave campus 30 minutes after dismissal unless involved in clubs, rehearsals, practices, or in after-school options. Middle School and High School study hall until 4pm. Elementary students must be picked up 15 minutes after dismissal unless enrolled in Blue Wave After School. Campus closes at 4:00pm.

 

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | Elementary – Getting Started

Blue Wave Preview
Learning communities will be reaching out to families with times and online locations for families to attend Virtual Blue Wave Preview events.

School Schedule
8:00am – 2:30pm – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
8:00am – 12:45pm – Wednesday
Note: Students arriving after 8:05 are considered tardy.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up | Details
Elementary school students will be dropped off and picked up in the Main Entrance traffic circle at 1200 SW 6th Street. Middle school and high school students with elementary school siblings may be dropped off and picked up with them.

Kindergarten First Week Staggered Start
For the first week of school kindergarten students have a staggered start. Group A attends on Tuesday, August 10 (8:30-2:30). Group B attends on Thursday, August 12 (8:30-2:30) and both groups attend on Friday, August 13 (8:00-2:30). SECONDARY SCHOOL

Chromebook Distribution
Chromebooks will be distributed through classes during the first two weeks of school.

FHSAA Physical + Parent Consent Forms
FHSAA Physical + Parent Consent Forms for the 2021-22 school year can be picked up from the Main Office or downloaded from the Athletics page on the P.K. Yonge website.

School Schedule | Details
8:00am – 2:30pm – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
8:00am – 1:35pm  – Wednesday
Note: Students arriving after 8:05 are considered tardy.

Virtual School | Details
Students choosing to take online courses must complete and return a Virtual Instruction Agreement before the class is activated. Please contact your school counselor for more information.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL | Middle School – Getting Started

7th Grade Vaccinations | Details
The law requires 7th grade students to have a Tdap vaccination before their first day of 7th grade. Students without required documentation will not be permitted to attend school.

Middle school students will be dropped off and picked up at the South (Gym) Entrance (SW 10th Terr., via SW 16th Ave.) Middle school students with elementary school siblings may be dropped off and picked up in the Main Entrance traffic circle at 1200 SW 6th Street.

HIGH SCHOOL | High School – Getting Started

Student Parking| Details
Student drivers apply for student parking permits and enter campus via the entrance to the North lot (see map: Student Parking).
