Biography

B.F.A., Studio Art, State University of New York at Oswego in Oswego, NY
M.A.T., Art Education, State University of New York at Oswego in Oswego, NY

I’ve been teaching K-5 Art since 2007. I started teaching in 2006 in Upstate, NY, then moved to Atlanta, GA for my first full-time position. Five years later, due to my husband’s work at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, I moved to Memphis, TN where I taught K-5 Art for five years at two different schools. Outside of art class, I like to do creative things, stay active, and relax with my son and husband, a research scientist. I also have a cat, a dog, and a great family who can’t wait to visit us here in FL and go to the beach.

My favorite thing about teaching art is creating a space that is a a safe zone for kids where it is OK to make mistakes and be truly creative. With belief, persistence, work, and support, anyone can gain skills, learn to understand and love art, and be more creative.
