2021-22 School Year Options | Submit form by May 7

Greetings, P.K. Yonge Families,

As we count down the last days of the 2020-21 school year (see Z-A Countdown), we begin planning for the coming school year. Below, please find information about our instructional program, COVID-19 protocols, and choices students and families can make for 2021-22.

Submit: 2021-22 Instructional Options | Family Choice by May 7, 2021

Instructional Program 2021-22
At present (April 2021), the Florida Department of Education is not approving off-campus options for school districts for the 2021-22 school year. This means that beginning August 10, 2021, all P.K. Yonge students will return to full-time on-campus instruction. Dates 2021-22

COVID-19 Protocols 2021-22
Revised COVID-19 protocols regarding mask-wearing, physical distancing for the 2021-22 school year, and any additional community health considerations will be developed in consultation with UF Health, the Department of Health, and the Florida Department of Education. COVID-19 protocols are based on current circumstances. Details regarding COVID-19 protocols will be shared with families closer to the start of school.

Family Choice 2021-22
To begin planning for the new school year, we need your help. Please submit the form below for each student in your family indicating your choice for each student for the new school year.

Submit: 2021-22 Instructional Options | Family Choice by May 7

Options:

1. P.K. Yonge DRS Full-Time On-Campus Face-to-Face Instruction
2. Other Non-P.K. Yonge Option, for example Florida Virtual School Full-Time Full-Year (Submit a Leave of Absence Request or Withdrawal)

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Information
Families selecting FLVS must 1) make the selection for the entire 2021-22 school year, 2) notify Admissions and 3) submit a Leave of Absence Request or Withdrawal by May 7, 2021. A Leave of Absence prioritizes (but does not guarantee) the return of a student to P.K. Yonge. Returns are based on whether a space is available at a student’s grade level for Fall 2022.

If families choose the FLVS option, enrollment opens May 3. We recommend families enroll in FLVS as soon as possible in order to be assigned an instructor by the first day of school. FLVS classes are led by FLVS teachers with FLVS curriculum. Families are responsible for providing computer/internet access. Visit: Florida Virtual School
