We are excited about starting the 2019-2020 school year!

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing information with you by phone, email, and Facebook to help you get ready by August 12. If you miss an email, check the Announcements  page on the P.K. Yonge website or visit our Facebook page.

This week’s back-to-school bulletin includes information about:

Getting Started in 2019-20 (including Blue Wave Preview, 9th Grade Orientation, First Day Procedures, School Supplies, and more), the School Schedule, Important Dates for 2019-20, the Clinic, the Cafeteria, After-school Options, and Updating Family and Emergency Contact Information.

Getting the School Year Started | Elementary | Middle *| High*
“Getting Started” pages provide essential back-to-school information including school supplies, preview, summer reading, orientation, first day procedures, and more. *NOTES for Secondary Students 1) The first day of school is a 1-6 day  2) No locks are needed. Lockers have been removed from campus in the interest of school safety. 3) Chromebooks will be distributed through classes during the first two weeks of school.

Important Dates 2019-20 | Details
SPECIAL NOTE:  Please plan ahead.  Friday, September 20 is a pupil holiday/teacher workday unique to P.K. Yonge. This workday for teachers supports the research mission of our school.  This is NOT an Alachua County School District student holiday.

School Schedule | Details
Elementary: 8:00-2:30 (M, T, Th, F) and 8:00-12:45 (W)
Secondary: 8:10-2:15 (M, T, Th, F) and 8:10-1:40 (W)

Supervision | 7:30am – 2:45pm (M, T, Th, F)  | 7:30am-2:10pm (Wed). Students must leave campus 30 minutes after dismissal unless involved in clubs, rehearsals, practices, or in after-school options described below.

After School Options

Elementary and Middle School | Blue Wave Afterschool | Middle School Study Hall

Blue Wave After School, an independent operator on our campus, offers after-school options, including study hall for P.K. Yonge middle school students.

High School Study Hall
A supervised study space will be provided for high school students in the east side of the cafeteria Monday – Friday until 4:00pm

Skyward – Family/Emergency Contact Information | Skyward
Keeping Skyward family/emergency contact information current is important! We use this information to communicate with families throughout the year. Beginning August 12, families are asked to log in to Skyward to make sure all family/emergency information is current and accurate. Need help with your Skyward login or password? Contact: Data Entry Office (x 285) | Front Office (x 221). Skyward family access will be open August 9 after 4:00pm.

Secondary Building Construction Update
We continue to work with the University of Florida on planning for next steps in construction of the secondary building. Information will be shared as it becomes available.
