School Resumes Thursday, August 31
We hope everyone is safe and recovering from the storm. P.K. Yonge campus will reopen on Thursday, August 31 for normal school operations. K-7th will resume to a normal schedule. 8th-12th will have a B day on Thursday and an A day on Friday if that applies to the student’s schedule.

Tropical Storm Idalia - PKY Update #1
Due to Tropical Storm Idalia, P.K. Yonge campus will close at noon on Tuesday, August 29 and remain closed through Wednesday, August 30. Please make arrangements to pick up your student at noon on Tuesday, August 29. This schedule differs from Alachua County Public Schools. P.K. Yonge will be in session from 8:00 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, August 29.
On Tuesday, students will attend a modified schedule and will report to their 1st period classes or elementary teacher. Blue Wave After School will not be in operation on Tuesday, August 29 or Wednesday, August 30. Elementary students will receive regular lunch. Secondary students will not receive lunch on Tuesday.
School is expected to resume on Thursday, August 31 with a normal schedule.
- Blue Wave Meet & Greet and Senior Smart Start have been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 5, 5:30-7:00
- Extracurriculars – including athletics practices, rehearsals, and club meetings – will not occur on Tuesday and Wednesday
- Tuesday home volleyball games are being rescheduled for a later date
- Blue Wave After School will resume when campus returns to a normal schedule
- Academic Study Hall will not occur on Tuesday and Wednesday
We will provide updates regarding possible schedule changes and/or closures at P.K. Yonge as information becomes available.
P.K. Yonge is not part of the Alachua County Public Schools, and does not follow ACPS decisions often informed by disruptions to bus routes, access to power, and their need to provide storm shelters.

Tropical Storm Idalia - Blue Wave Meet & Greet Rescheduled to Sept. 5
Greetings PK Families,
Due to Tropical Storm Idalia, we will be rescheduling Blue Wave Meet & Greet to Tuesday, September 5, 5:30-7:00. Tuesday home volleyball games are also being rescheduled for a later date. Blue Wave After School plans to continue to operate with normal hours until further notice.
At this time P.K. Yonge is continuing normal operations while keeping informed of the progress of TS Idalia through close contact with the UF Emergency Management. We will provide updates regarding possible schedule changes and/or closures at P.K. Yonge as information becomes available.
