Good morning! Today is Tuesday, February 7th. Before Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan joined the billionaire’s club, Robert Johnson became the first African American billionaire when he sold the cable station he founded, Black Entertainment Television (BET) in 2001.

Also,this week is National School Counseling Week!  As members of school leadership and student support teams, school counselors collaborate with family members, principals, teachers and other support staff to develop and implement school-wide programs, classroom and individual student activities to improve student outcomes.

Godspell

Come see Godspell! Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love constructed as a group of parables based on the Gospel of Matthew and filled with favorite songs such as “Day by Day” and “We Beseech Thee” this a joyous celebration of friendship, love and devotion to high ideals. GODSPELL is a show for everyone. The show runs from Wednesday, February 15th -Saturday, February 18th. All at 7pm

Tickets are on sale  in the homestead app. Look for posters around campus with a QR code to purchase.

K/1 Coffee 

Reminder for all middle and high school students that the K/1 coffee company will be selling hot coffee, cold brew, and hot chocolate for $5.00 by the student parking lot. Cash only. Every Friday.

Gospel Choir

In preparation for the Black History Month performance, the Gospel Choir will rehearse Tuesday, Feb. 7th, in Ms. Hemmerich’s room during High School Lunch. All are strongly requested and welcomed to participate.

Congrats Steel Eels

Congratulations to our JV robotics team, Steel Eels. This weekend they traveled to Jacksonville to compete in the North East Florida League Tournament. They finished in the first ranked finalist alliance, won the Think Award, and won second place for the Inspiration Award. They’ve earned a spot in the Florida State Championships and will compete in early March. Way to go Eelies!

College & Career Fair 

All students going to the College and Career fair this Thursday need to report to the gym at 7:55 a.m and bring belongings for 3rd and 4th period, we will be returning around 11:45.  Please see Mrs. Walker in Guidance if you have any questions.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team kicks off their season today against Gainesville High School. The match begins at 3:30pm at Jonesville Tennis Center. Come cheer on your Boys Tennis players who are working to win their 9th consecutive district title this year!

Girls Varsity Soccer Regional Quarterfinals 

This Tuesday, Feb 7th, the girls varsity soccer team will play in a regional quarterfinal game against episcopal School of jacksonville. The game is right here at PKY.  kickoff at 7:00pm. The players would love your support.  first 40 students to enter the game with a purchased ticket get a free tee!  come cheer for girls soccer!!!!
