Good morning! Today is Tuesday, February 21st.  BLACK HISTORY FACT!  

In case you didn’t already know, the creator of Black History Month was historian Carter G. Woodson. Often referred to as the “Father of Black History,” he was notably the second African American to graduate from Harvard University with a doctorate degree, and is credited with being one of the first scholars to study and research the history of African Americans.

K/1 Coffee

Reminder for all middle and high school students that the K/1 coffee company will be selling hot coffee, cold brew, and hot chocolate for $5.00 by the student parking lot. Cash only. Every Friday. 

Black History Month Spirit Days 

This week is Black History Month Spirit Week! The Spirit Days are as follows:

Tues. Feb. 21st: African Cultural Attire Day

Wed. Feb. 22nd: HBCU Apparel Day

Thurs. Feb 23rd: Melanin Thursday (Wear Shades of Brown)

Fri. Feb. 24th: Black Friday (Wear ALL Black).

In final preparation for the Black History Month Show, the Black Student Union will have an important meeting today, during High School Lunch in Ms. Hemmerich’s room. All members and program participants are asked to attend. Also, This Wednesday Feb. 22nd through Friday Feb. 24th from 3-5pm, will be Black History Month Program rehearsal in the PAC.

Congrats Abigail and Luke 

Abigail Pruden and Luke Norcross won Second place in the event “Forestry” for the Regional Science Olympiad 2023.

Congratulations to the winners and the entire team. 

Powder Buff Volleyball 

Attention high school students – want to play in the powder buff volleyball game on March 9th? There will be a table outside the cafeteria during high school lunch to get your permission slips and pay your $5 fee. The first 20 boys to return their forms and their fees will be put on a team.

For the yearbook, we want to represent everyone’s future plans, whether that is enlisting, enrolling, or being employed. If you are interested in being featured in the yearbook, please fill out the form. Let us know your name and your future plans whether you are enlisted, enrolled, employed, or undecided.
