Driven, well-liked, and respected by peers are descriptors for exceptional students. P.K. Yonge senior Sam Ray is definitely one of them! Sam as been named an official member of the Vanderbilt Class of 2022 through the Questbridge National College Match.

Throughout his school career, Sam has worked hard and has taken advantage of many and varied opportunities at P.K. Yonge. As president of his class every year since middle school, Sam is now student body president representing the student voice on the school advisory council. Student body president responsibilities include organizing homecoming activities which Sam handled with aplomb, setting great precedent for applying his leadership skills again as he organizes P.K. Yonge’s Black History Month celebration in February 2018.

Sam’s academics are excellent, his public speaking skills are stellar, and his school experience has been characterized by a wide variety of activities – from soccer, to Hispanic Honor Society, to instrumental ensemble.

His future is bright and P.K. Yonge is eager to cheer him on to the next phase in his academic career at Vanderbilt. Congratulations Sam!
