Student: Jaquline Mueller Named Sunshine State Scholar

Congratulations to Jaquline Mueller on being named P.K. Yonge’s 2018 Sunshine State Scholar.

Jaquline has been selected as the P.K. Yonge school district’s top 11th grade student in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. She will represent P.K. Yonge and join other school district representatives from across Florida in the Sunshine State Scholars program.

The Sunshine State Scholars program will be held in Orlando on May 17-18, 2018, and each of the scholars, along with their parents, will travel to to participate in a two-day program. The 2018 program will engage 100 high school STEM scholars in a “think tank” on STEM-related challenges for the state.

Also at the event in May, the Commissioner of Education will recognize each scholar’s academic accomplishments, as well as the promise they hold for the state of Florida and the communities therein. Representatives from Florida’s colleges and universities will also meet with the Sunshine State Scholars and discuss the higher education options available to them in Florida.
