(Gainesville, FL) – P.K. Yonge boys basketball head coach Boderick Johnson is moving on after 6 years.

“P.K. Yonge is grateful for Coach Johnson’s work over the past 6 years in leading our boys basketball team. Coach Johnson and his student-athletes have been successful on and off the court,” said Valerie Flournoy, P.K. Yonge athletic director.

Johnson also contributed 8 years as an assistant coach to the girl’s basketball program winning 2 state championships. He has served as a coach, mentor and a fundraiser for other sports in support of the athletic department.

“I have appreciated the care Coach Johnson has taken to focus on the development of the whole player. He is respected at P.K. Yonge and in the community and will continue to be held in high regard for the service he provided Blue Wave student-athletes,” said Dr. Brian K. Marchman, P.K. Yonge director and superintendent. “We are thankful for him and his time as coach here.”

“P.K. Yonge basketball student-athletes will not experience a pause in their summer activities and leadership development programs. We will take inventory of the program, reassess, and build anew Blue Wave basketball’s next chapter.” said Valerie Flournoy

P.K. Yonge will begin a search for a new boys head basketball coach.
