Yonge family and school in its renewed vision and commitment to academic and athletic excellence. I am grateful to Dr. Carrie Geiger, Dr. Brian Marchman, and the search committee for the opportunity. Go Blue Wave!”
Flournoy graduated from P.K. Yonge in 2006 and had a standout track and field high school career. She competed in track events including 100, 200, 100 high hurdles, and long jump. She was also a member of the 2002 volleyball state champion team.
As a track & field student-athlete at Florida State University, she served as a team captain, vice-president of the Society for Human Resource Managers Student Group, and participated in the Women in Leadership Development Program.
“In addition to her impressive athletic leadership record, Valerie has a personal connection and commitment to P.K. Yonge and she understands and shares the pride our community takes in our school,” said Dr. Carrie Geiger, P.K. Yonge principal. “She was the perfect fit for our school culture and our athletic program. We are excited to welcome her home.”
