Ian Faulkner: Eagle Scout Project in a Time of Coronavirus

August 22, 2020

Ian Faulkner Eagle ScoutIan Faulker, a P.K. Yonge 10th grader, has been busy during the summer of 2020 working on his eagle scout project aimed at making mask-wearing a little easier for adults and for children. To fulfill the requirements of his project, Ian delivered one hundred ear-savers for local healthcare professionals. A device that relieves pressure on the ears from masks,  Ian’s “ear savers” are printed on his 3D printer.

Even though his eagle scout project is complete, Ian continues to make ear savers for  school food service employees, the P.K. Yonge K/1 Community, some area school administrators, a department at the Lake City VA, and has plans to make them for additional students at P.K. Yonge and Gainesville Country Day School, and his Sister Troop 21.

Congratulations Ian on contributing to our collective well-being by making mask wearing just that little bit easier!
