Student: Alex Barba Receives Scholastic Award

Congratulations to Alex Barba (’19) upon receiving the Scholastic Competition Honorable Mention Award for the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in the Southeast Writing Region-At-Large. Alex received the this Scholastic writing award for his dramatic script entitled, PLAYING THE GAME.
In 2018, students submitted 65,000 works of art and writing through twelve Region-at-Large areas. Alex is one of only 50 chosen in the entire region!
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth while providing opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. Each year, increasing numbers of teens participate in the program and become part of the Scholastic community, along with countless educators who support and encourage the creative process.
We are thrilled to count Alex Barba from our Blue Wave community as our representative in the national Scholastic community!
