Campus Health – COVID-19
August 4, 2021We continue to work on keeping school families up-to-date on the changing circumstances in our community. We commit to sharing information as it becomes available and as we determine the most appropriate campus response. Our campus response follows guidance from the University of Florida, the State of Florida, the Florida Department of Education and considers recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC.
COVID-19 Vaccinations are Encouraged
We continue to encourage eligible members of the UF/P.K. Yonge community (age 12 years and older) to be vaccinated. For local COVID-19 vaccine clinics, check Vaccine Availability.
Masks: Optional, Recommended by the CDC
Mask wearing will remain optional on the UF/P.K. Yonge campus and in UF/P.K. Yonge facilities. Members of the P.K. Yonge community will be at liberty to make their own decisions regarding the use of masks while at school. Families may be aware that recent CDC guidelines do recommend that all students, staff, faculty and visitors wear masks while on school campuses. For more information: CDC: Children, Teens, and Young Adults
Campus Response to Positive COVID-19 Diagnoses
P.K. Yonge has an established response to COVID-19 exposures and positive diagnoses on campus. If changes to our COVID-19 campus response become necessary, families will be informed as soon as information becomes available.
