Update on New Building
On Tuesday, March 13, five high school students visited the Capitol in Tallahassee. They visited legislators and advocated for our pressing need to replace our old secondary buildings. As a result of work on many fronts (including our student advocates), the legislative request for $10M passed the House K-12 Appropriations Committee on Wednesday. This is the first hurdle in a multi-step process for funding. We are excited to have this step behind us and grateful for the voices of our students in support of our school. As mentioned earlier, we are hopeful for good news by June 2019 and appreciate the support provided to us by the University of Florida as we move through this process. | Student Advocates in Tallahassee
