School Closed Until April 15, Remote Instruction

In an update this afternoon, the Governor directed all Florida schools to remain closed until April 15, 2020. We will be making the transition to remote instruction beginning March 30. State testing has been cancelled for the 2019-20 school year. More details will be shared as they become available. Please see below for important information.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ELEMENTARY FAMILIES

  1. If you still need to pick up a device and resources, please email MainOffice@pky.ufl.edu
  2. Devices and resources are for use beginning March 30.
  3. Check paperwork inside the device – confirm it has your student’s name on it.
  4. Put devices and resources in a safe place for use when school resumes.
  5. Device access is shut off until March 30, with no access to the internet until March 30.
  6. Don’t be concerned about cosmetic issues with the device – we are aware of scratches, chips, torn stickers, etc.
  7. If you have not done so already, please complete the Technology Access Survey.
  8. Expectations during the early stages of an online transition will be devoted to helping students and families get used to tools, resources, and how the system works.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR SECONDARY FAMILIES

  1. Students all have their school-issued Chromebook.
  2. Beginning March 30, students will be using Canvas to access instructional content. More details will be provided before March 30.
  3. If you have not done so already, please complete the Technology Access Survey.
  4. Expectations during the early stages of an online transition will be devoted to helping students and families get used to tools, resources, and how the system works.

Internet Access Concerns
Plans for internet access support are based on information provided in the Technology Access Survey. We will be communicating with families prior to March 30.
