Plans for Spencer Event, 10.19.2017

October 12, 2017

Greetings P.K. Yonge Families,

As many of you know, Richard Spencer from the National Policy Institute will be speaking at the University Center for Performing Arts from 2:30-4:30pm on Thursday October 19th.

With student and family safety in mind, we have consulted with the University Police Department to determine what measures should be taken at P.K. Yonge on this date.

While we have no reason at this time to expect any difficulties, we have made the decision to close the P.K. Yonge campus at 4:00pm on Thursday October 19th.

Unless otherwise communicated by coaches/club sponsors, all after-school activities will be canceled or will end at 3:45pm to enable a 4:00pm campus closure. This includes Bluewave Afterschool.

Please assume that your child’s after-school activity will be canceled unless otherwise advised. Please direct any questions to coaches/club sponsors.

All students must be off campus by 4:00pm.

It is possible that traffic patterns near the event will be altered and considerable traffic congestion is expected. Law enforcement recommends that families consider alternate routes on their way to and from campus.
