Though we’re on Spring Break, we wanted to share some helpful information regarding meal options for students and a webinar for families.
Meal Options for Students
The Alachua County School Board has published a list of locations where children from ages 0-18 may pick up grab-and-go lunches from March 23-27. Lunches have been provided through the generosity of many community partners. A list of sites in Gainesville and surrounding communities can be found here: https://www.sbac.edu/Page/29814
Lunch and Learn for Families – Helping Your Child Cope
The Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System and Florida Virtual School are hosting a webinar to provide support to adult family members. Mental health experts will describe age-appropriate ways to talk with children about COVID-19 and share tips for managing our own emotions while helping children cope with stress and anxiety they might be experiencing.
