Happy Friday, P.K. Families — Campus is always busy with lots going on in academics as well as extracurricular activities. There are always things to celebrate, so we share a handful below, and wish the Blue Wave community a wonderful weekend!

— This week was School Counseling Week! We are so grateful for our counselors!

— Lillie Nesty was named the Gainesville Sun’s swimmer of the year.

— Two elementary and one high school Odyssey of the Mind teams are prepping for competitions this weekend.

— Eleanor Montgomery (7th) and Aurora Martins Rocha (7th) received Judge Stephan P. Mickle Essay and Poetry prizes.

— Family Webinars! High School Course Scheduling is coming up, and you can watch all the recordings of past events.

— Our elementary students have already surpassed last year’s $11,000 in the first week of their American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge. Look at our students jump!

— Girls swim coach Kara Dawson was named the Gainesville Sun’s Coach of the Year.

— The Spring Musical Little Shop of Horrors opens on February 16 and tickets are on sale online!

— Drew Dawson signed to Daytona State College for baseball.

— The Hidden Library Blog – February Edition book reviews by students across campus

— The Roaring Riptide Robotics JV Team came in 9th in the Northeast Florida Region and the whole team created another magic wheelchair. Watch the wheelchair ambulance in action. 

— In case you missed it, Brian Marchman has been announced as the next director of P.K. Yonge
