Happy Friday, P.K. Families — A full and happy Teacher Appreciation Week on campus, with great treats and kindnesses for our teachers, wonderful sentiments from families, awesome posters designed by students, and a fantastic showing for the Z-A countdown! There are quite a few notable things and events on the horizon. Keep checking your email, the announcements on the web and the PKYongeBlueWave Facebook page for updates.

The Tumblin Creek Art Shows have been on display this week. Take a moment to appreciate our Elementary Student Artwork and Secondary Student Artwork.

Congratulations again to Ms. Carla-Ann Brown on being named P.K. Yonge’s district Teacher of the Year AND on receiving the Dennison Teacher Research Outstanding Manuscript Award.

Congratulations to William Pruden, 5th grade on winning first place in the Florida 4-H State Forest Ecology Contest, junior division.

Senior Awards have been determined and communications sent to families of recipients. With last minute updates, there may be one or two late additions to the invitation list. The Senior Awards event is on Monday, May 10 at 6pm in Zoom and emails have been sent and will be sent again to families over the weekend.

P.K. Yonge has received a Best High School designation from US News & World Report again this year! According to their data, we are the #1 high school in Gainesville! Congratulations to the teachers, students, staff, and families who make that happen!
