Daily Moment of Silence
August 17, 2021P.K. Yonge Families — Beginning on Monday, August 23, all classes at P.K. Yonge will reserve one minute for a moment of silence at the start of each school day. This time, set aside each day in compliance with House Bill 529 – Moments of Silence in Public Schools, is provided for students to engage in a moment of private reflection. House Bill 529 became law on July 1, 2021
Time for the daily moment of silence will be set aside, and families are encouraged to discuss the use of the time with their children to suggest how they might spend this time of reflection. Teachers will not make suggestions regarding the nature of student reflection during the daily moment of silence.
