Congratulations to our Post-Season Teams! 

​​Congratulations to the Boys varsity golf team: Charlie Tumminia, Rohan Paranjpe, Gavin Khemtong and Jackson Holt. They placed 2nd at the District tournament and will advance to the regional tournament next Tuesday at Hawkstone Country Club.

Congratulations to Katelyn Huber, who won the girls district tournament and Allyn Khemtong who placed 3rd overall. The girls will advance to the regional tournament next Wednesday in Cocoa Beach. Good luck Bluewave Golf!

Congratulations to the Middle school, JV, and Varsity Volleyball teams on great seasons. Special shout-out to seniors Autumn James and Xyiah Moore. Thanks for representing the blue wave!

Girls Swim team finished as Regional runner up. Boys swim finished just outside of top teams at Regionals. Both teams advance multiple individuals to the State meet in Ocala.

Congratulations to all students whose artwork was submitted for the Art in the Capital Competition.

Heloisa Lima Dias multimedia watercolor painting based on the work of Friedrich Hundertwasser has been selected to represent P.K. Yonge during the 2024 Florida Congressional Session.

Heloisa’s art was created in Ms. Johnson’s 2D art class. She is currently a student in Mr. Moody’s 8th-grade art class. 

6th and 7th Grade students can pick up their work in Ms. Johnson’s room, 8th grade art will be in Mr. Moody’s room.Congratulations!

Murder on the Orient Express

Faculty, staff, and students!

Come see Murder on the Orient Express Thursday, October 26th- Saturday, October 28th all at 7pm with an additional Matinee on Saturday at 2pm. Famous detective Hercule Poirot is tasked to solve a murder while on board the Orient Express, as the killer could still be in their midst. This show will make you question the true meaning of JUSTICE. 

Tickets can be found on the school website, Performing Arts social media pages or on posters around the campus.

FASFA

Good morning, Seniors, Thursday and Friday are FASFA ID Days.  You will be creating your FASFA ID in your CCR class Thursday and Friday.  Teachers will walk you through the process so that you will be ready once FASFA opens in January.  Parents will also need to create an ID.  We will share the information with families.  There is a new process for FASFA this year.  Please listen carefully in class and make sure you understand the process so you will be prepared when it is time to apply.

PKY Unplugged

If you are interested in audition for PKY Unplugged, they will be held Nov 3 from 3-5 in the PAC. If you are in a band, a dancer, or any other act, then come audition! PKY Unplugged will be held Nov 15!

Senior Student IDs

Seniors need to pick up their student IDs from the main office. 

Girls Basketball Tryouts

Girls Varsity and JV Basketball Try-Outs will be Monday October 30th in the Gym at 2:45-4:15. You must have your EL-2(Physical) and EL-3(Parent Permission) Forms in to Coach Flournoy by Monday.

NSTEM

A reminder that the National Honor Society in STEM will meet this Wednesday in Ms. Brewster’s classroom – Building N, Room 382. If you’d like to join NSTEM, this is your last chance! Be sure to attend our meeting during lunch on Wednesday! 

Seniors Cap & Gowns

Seniors – don’t forget! It’s time to order your caps and gowns for graduation. There is no cost – P.K. Yonge pays for them. Please fill out the form in the senior canvas course announcements by October 27th, including the correct spelling of your name for your diploma. For questions, please see Mrs. Sheppard.

Health Science Club

The Health Science Club invites all interested to a presentation by Dr. Andrade this Friday after school in Dr. Cordero’ room.  Dr. Andrade is a neurologist and will share his experience becoming a physician and working as a neurologist.  All are welcome!

Winterguard

The reigning Regional Class A champion PKY winter guard will be hosting a showcase of their 2023 marching show tomorrow during middle and high school lunch periods. Any 6th through 12th grade students interested in learning more about participating in the upcoming Winterguard and Colorguard programs are welcome to participate in a unique hands-on learning opportunity directly after the performance!

Global Festival 

Please come to the Global Festival on Tuesday, November 7th from 4 to 6pm. We will have food for sale representing different countries. Students will sing and dance and give dance classes. There will be activities and games for all. Different clubs will be represented, and they will be selling items to help their respective clubs. 

Global Festival Practice

All students dancing and singing for the Global Festival must practice this week and next week during lunch or after school. 

UNICEF

UNICEF will be collecting money during lunch to help children in need all this week. Please bring your coins and donate if you can. 

Boo Grams

Boo grams will be on sale Oct 24-25 at both lunches.  Get your friend a treat this Halloween. The cost is $1 each!
