Good morning, Blue Wave. Today is Wednesday, March 27. 

School Day SAT Reminders

Today all 10th and 11th graders will be taking the school-wide SAT.  The bells will be turned off.  Grade 6-9 students, please move quietly through the halls as you change classes.  Third floor blue, third floor green, and first floor green wings and the Spanish classrooms will be used for testing until approximately noon. Sixth through 9th grade students,  please do not enter these areas. 

Congrats Boys Tennis

Congratulations to the boys tennis team for their win Monday over Union County high school. The boys team is undefeated in district play, and will be playing Gainesville high school this Thursday at 3:30 at Jonesville tennis center. 

Congrats Band

Congratulations to Mya Itnyre, Samuel Ruszczyk, Nathaniel Ruszczyk, Jacob Steigleman, Hasi Tumati, Gavin Khemtong, Bailey Beckett, and Andres Davila for earning a superior rating at the Florida Bandmasters Association State Solo and Ensemble festival on Monday at Deland high school. A big shoutout goes to Audra Cantrell and Tyler Holt for their spectacular performances. You all represented your school to the highest degree, and you continue to show that music is alive and well here at P.K Yonge.

Congrats Softball

Congrats to Softball for their 5-3 win over Cedar Key last night! 

Student Government Elections

Student Government applications and campaign videos are due this Friday to Mrs. Koppitch! Make sure you share your video speech with her through Google and turn in your applications before then.

Women’s History Month

Feminist Club will be highlighting influential women for the rest of March. Madam C.J. Walker introduced door-to-door hair and beauty care for Black women. She became one of the first self-made female millionaires and created an incredible empire. 

Flower sale extended! Make sure to stop by Feminist Club’s table at lunch on Wednesday, March 27th and Thursday, March 28th to purchase a flower gram to be delivered to a woman or girl you love that Friday. Your purchase of a $2 flower will be donated to Peaceful Paths, the organization serving survivors of domestic violence in Alachua, Bradford, and Union counties. Buy someone a flower!

SG Spirit Night

Come out to Chipotle on Archer Road on Tuesday, April 2nd from 5-9 PM to support P. K. Yonge Student Government.  25% of the proceeds from sales is returned to the school.  Take a picture of the fliers on the bulletin boards and in the front office to show at the time of your purchase.

Good Luck Girls Tennis

Good luck to the varsity girl’s tennis team when they play Eastside at 3:30pm today at Westside.
