Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Wednesday, May 23rd and it is a B Day!

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Today is G day, hope that you are wearing green or dressed like a grandparent! Tomorrow is F day which means its Fairy Tale day, dress like your favorite Fairy Tale Character.

 

Attention Students: Yearbooks are now available for purchase. The staff will be selling yearbooks during lunch on Mondays and Fridays for the remainder of the year. You may also purchase copies at the business office. Price is $70.

 

GPD is hosting a Jr Police Academy over the summer for MS students grades 6-8.  If you are interested or have questions please visit room M-346 or talk with Office McMillian.

 

A reminder to all students in Ms Snyder’s 6th Grade theatre class:

Please bring your items for the party tomorrow, Thursday the 24th.

 

The Speech and Debate Team will have an interest meeting on Thursday May 31st at 12:35pm for all interested students in the library back room. Anyone who is interested in joining the Speech and Debate team should plan on attending this meeting. Information about being involved in the club will be passed out and all of the upcoming activities will be discussed. If you have any questions you can see Mr. Lightbourne in M-344 or email him at tlightbourne@pky.ufl.edu We hope to see you there!

 

 

Athletics:

 

For anyone interested in playing girls varsity or middle school soccer next year there will be an interest meeting in the gymnasium at 11:45am on Thursday, May 24th during power hour.

 

There will be an interest meeting for next year’s Cross Country team today right after school in Coach Hazan’s portable.  All newcomers welcome and returners bring your friends!

 

For any players going into grades 8-12 that are interested in playing football this fall, there will be an informational meeting in the weight room today directly after school. If you want to play but can not attend please contact coach Mcdonald at bluewavefootball@pky.ufl.edu.

 

For anyone interested in swimming there will be an athlete/parent meeting tomorrow at 6pm in the community classroom.

 

Seniors:

 

Seniors – Last chance to get money in for the senior banquet. Bring your money to the business office today. It must be in by noon today or you will be left out.

 

Seniors, Please stop by Dr. Allison’s room any time this week to pick up your Senior Gift!

 

The IT Department will be open for Chromebook returns from SENIORS ONLY from  8:00AM-3:30PM tomorrow and Friday.

Prior to check-in, please have the following items ready for inspection:

1) Original School-Issued Chromebook – MUST BE CLEANED & HAVE NO STICKERS on the device, other than the original rectangular barcode sticker

2) Original Chromebook Case

3) Original Chromebook Charger – THE CHARGER MUST HAVE THE WHITE BARCODE STICKER with YOUR NAME VISIBLE on the sticker.  We will NOT accept store bought chargers or other after-market chargers as a replacement.  

**Please do not return your items prior to completing Mr. Beyer’s exam.  He will provide time for you to return items on exam day. **

If you have lost or damaged items, you will need to complete payment in the Cashier’s Office, prior to graduation. 

If you have specific questions about Chromebook returns, please contact Mr. Locke or Ms. Brewster in Building Q, Room 501.

 

Power Hour:

 

All students that would like to participate in the Europe tour in 2020 please see Mrs. Santiago (Z-1427) this week during Power our or right after school.

 

Students who are interested in joining PK Yonge’s year round robotics team should plan to attend new member interest meeting tomorrow after school.  Meeting will be held in the Roaring Riptide workspace from 2:55-4:00 pm. The workspace is located in the portable closest to the gym.  Look for the Roaring Riptide sign on the end of the portable.  See you there!

 

On Friday, May 25th during power hour, the PK Yonge College Information and Readiness Club (CIRC) will have its second annual meeting where we discuss, explore, and learn more about college and the college admissions process. The meeting is open to 9-12 grade students and the location is to be decided. If you have any questions, ask Ms. Bryen or Colby Joiner.
