Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Wednesday, May 16^th and it is an A Day!

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Today is L Day, hope you are wearing something that you LOVE! Tomorrow is K Day, wear a crown and be a King!

 

Attention Students: Yearbooks are now available for purchase. The staff will be selling yearbooks during lunch on Mondays and Fridays for the remainder of the year. You may also purchase copies at the business office. Price is $70.

 

The application process for all sixth and seventh grade students interested in becoming a member of the National Junior Honor Society is open. The requirements include a cumulative 3.4 GPA for 7th grade students and proficient in all core classes for 6th grade students.  Interested students must complete an application form that is available on the club page of the school website.  Students can also get an application for directly from Dr. Cordero or Dr. Breil.  The application is due Friday.

 

Reminder that Student Council Election Speeches will be taking place this week.  Today the 9^th grade elects will give their speeches during 3^rd period.

 

Athletics:

 

There will be an interest meeting for next cross country on Wednesday, May 23^rd right after school in Coach Hazan’s portable.  All newcomers welcome and returners bring your friends!

 

Seniors:

 

The Senior Banquet is a tradition at PK where all of the seniors get together for one last meal together before graduation. Please bring $10 to the business office this week to reserve your place. The banquet will be Wednesday May 30^th at 6pm.

 

School Counseling:

 

The End of the Year Scholarship Newsletter is available! Please visit the P.K. Yonge School Counseling Page or the School Counseling twitter to take a look.

 

Seniors, please remember to fill out a “Final” transcript request form and turn in to Mrs. Flinchum or Ms. Bryen to have your transcript sent to the College you are going to attend.

 

Power Hour:

P.K. Yonge’s High School Robotics Team, Roaring Riptide, will hold Interest meeting for club applicants after school  tomorrow at 2:45 p.m..  If you are interested in applying to join this club, please plan to attend this meeting.  Our club is a year-round club, with many opportunities at the school, local, and state level.  Interest meetings will be held in the portable next to the gym.  Look for the Roaring Riptide sign on the end of the portable.  We hope to see you there!
