To Creeks and Currents staff:  Today during lunch and after school and next Mon-Wed are the scheduled times to add tip-ins to all the magazines.  Every staff member is required to complete 20 magazines.

To students and staff:  Early sales and “hold requests” will begin next Thursday, April 27, from Mrs. Harrell in J-311, Mrs. Jacobbe in elementary, or Ms. Sanchez in the front office.  After that, English, Secondary Art, and Spanish teachers will also have magazines available. This month, Key Club, in collaboration with UF’s Hispanic Latino Affairs, is hosting a shoe and sock drive for migrant farm workers in honor of the Cesar Chavez Memorial Day of Service. We are collecting new socks and new or gently used shoes. There will be a donation box in Mrs. Andrews’ room and in front of the cafeteria every day during high school lunch. If you have any questions please see Raul Ortiz.

Health Smart Campaign

Today’s Health Smart Reminder: Children dehydrate more quickly than adults do, and a survey revealed that 65% of school children drank too little water. Be heath smart! Keep yourself hydrated today.

There will be a fundraiser to benefit Health Smart PKY on Thursday, April 20, from 6pm to 9pm at Blaze Pizza on Archer Road.  Those attending the fundraiser must show a flyer at the register in order for us to receive 20% of the proceeds from Blaze.  Flyers are available in the front office or by emailing Dr. Geiger at cgeiger@pky.ufl.edu.  You can provide a paper copy of the flyer or simply show it on your phone in order to help out our effort.

Look for the Facebook page called “Health-Smart P.K. Yonge Fundraiser” and please share it with your digital community.  See you at Blaze Pizza next Thursday night!

Seniors

Today you will be completing a survey in Mr. Beyer’s class about your plans for after graduation.  Please be sure to bring information regarding college acceptances, scholarships and other post graduation plans.
