Academics

The 2017 April Scholarship Letter is now available on the school website and the School Counseling Twitter! It will be on the Student Government Twitter as well.

Santa Fe College would like to extend an invitation to P.K. Yonge students to join the Santa Fe College Career and Technical Education Showcase tomorrow from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Perry Center for Emerging Technologies (14180 NW 119th Terrace, Alachua). The showcase will feature SF’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs, business partners, and SF Admissions and Financial Aid representatives. For more information, come see Ms. Bryen!

Athletics

Cheerleaders will be selling $1.00 snow-cones on Tuesdays and Thursday’s right after school at the cafeteria all spring. Please come out and support the cheerleading program!

Good Luck to our Girls’ Tennis Team at Trinity Catholic today at 3:30pm.
Good Luck to our Lacrosse Team in the District Semi-Final game at 5:00pm at Citizens Field.

Clubs

This month, Key Club, in collaboration with UF’s Hispanic Latino Affairs, is hosting a shoe and sock drive for migrant farm workers in honor of the Cesar Chavez Memorial Day of Service. We are collecting new socks and new or gently used shoes. There will be a donation box in Mrs. Andrews’ room and in front of the cafeteria every day during high school lunch. High School Art Club will meet tomorrow at lunch for the weekly National Art Honor Society meetings.  New members, please remember to attend.  We will be meeting every Thursday.

Middle School B.O.S.S. will meet tomorrow in Rm. J-306 during lunch.  B.O.S.S. members are asked to wear their B.O.S.S. shirts.   Lunch will be provided for current members.

There will be a SADD meeting tomorrow during HS lunch in Coach Hazan’s room Z-1429.

Health Smart Campaign

Here’s another way to increase your water intake: Eat more fruits and vegetables. Their high water content will add to your hydration. About 20% of our fluid intake comes from foods.

Dr. Carolyn Tucker and some of her students from the UF Health Smart Team will be visiting during HS lunch.  Be ready to share with them the ways that you have been working to meet our two PKY Health Smart Goals of drinking more water and choosing health snacks.

Performing Arts

Attention middle school students! Do you like to sing? Are you interested in singing in middle school Vocal Performing Arts next year? Auditions are today  in Mrs. Harding’s room. Come see Mrs. Harding to sign up or go to the performing arts page on the PK website to sign up online.

Seniors

Seniors who are going to Grad Bash – We will leave from the Gym at 4:00 on Friday after school. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately and ready for a fun event.

Mu Alpha Theta – The induction meeting will be Friday at lunch – please grab your lunch and meet in Mr. Bice’s room.
