Academics

Just a reminder, that Friday, March 31 is a teacher workday/pupil holiday.

The ASVAB is today at 2:45 in the Community Classroom.

Santa Fe College would like to extend an invitation to P.K. Yonge students to join the Santa Fe College Career and Technical Education Showcase on April 6 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Perry Center for Emerging Technologies (14180 NW 119th Terrace, Alachua). The showcase will feature SF’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs, business partners, and SF Admissions and Financial Aid representatives. For more information, come see Ms. Bryen!

Join FloridaShines’ Virtual College Week April 4-6. The three-day webinar event will provide students and parents with information about college admissions, financial aid, and career planning. The event speakers are experts in their fields and ready to share their knowledge.
Virtual College Night is a FREE event funded by the state of Florida.

Athletics

For all student athletes:  Free sports physicals will be offered at the UF Health Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute second floor on Saturday April 1st from 8 am to noon.  Remember that sports physicals are good for one year from the time they are administered.  Anyone planning to participate in spring football or any sport next year must have a current physical on file.

Cheerleaders will be selling $1.00 snow-cones on Tuesdays and Thursday’s right after school at the cafeteria all spring. Please come out and support the cheerleading program!

Clubs

The Habitat for Humanity Club is sponsoring a Men’s Volleyball Game tomorrow from 1:15 to 2: 10. Don’t miss it!

Health Smart Campaign

Have you thought of these healthy snack choices? Apples, bananas, raisins, no-sugar added fruit leather, carrots, and almonds make great snacks.

Performing Arts

Congratulations to our PK Yonge Thespians who travelled to Tampa for the Florida State Thespian Conference.  The troupe did very well in competition earning good, excellent, and superior ratings.

Attention middle school students! Do you like to sing? Are you interested in singing in middle school Vocal Performing Arts next year? Auditions will be held next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Mrs. Harding’s room. Come see Mrs. Harding to sign up or go to the performing arts page on the PK website to sign up online.
