Good morning! Today is Tuesday, February 22nd.  BLACK HISTORY FACT!  Dubbed “Hip-Hop’s First Godmother” by Billboard, singer and music producer Sylvia Robinson produced the first-ever commercially successful rap record: “Rapper’s Delight,” by the Sugar Hill Gang. And along with her husband, she co-owned the first hip-hop label, Sugar Hill Records.

K/1 Coffee

Reminder for all middle and high school students that the K/1 coffee company will be selling hot coffee, cold brew, and hot chocolate for $5.00 by the student parking lot. Cash only. Every Friday. 

Black History Spirit Week

This week is Black History Month Spirit Week! The Spirit Days are as follows:

Wed. Feb. 22nd: HBCU Apparel Day

Thurs. Feb 23rd: Melanin Thursday (Wear Shades of Brown)

Fri. Feb. 24th: Black Friday (Wear ALL Black).

Black History Month Program Rehearsals 

This Wednesday Feb. 22nd through Friday Feb. 24th from 3-5pm, will be Black History Month Program rehearsal in the PAC.

Congrats Varsity Girls Tennis, Varsity Boys Tennis, and Varsity Softball

Congratulations to the varsity girls tennis team who defeated Union County 5 matches to 2 last night. Player of the match was Bella Young who won both her singles and doubles match. Good luck Thursday versus Oak Hall.

Congratulations to the boys tennis team for their win over Santa Fe high school last night, 7 to 0. Good luck next Monday versus Oak Hall

Congrats to the varsity softball team for winning their game last night 19-1 and to the JV for winning 12-5. Go blue wave!

Congrats Leila

Congrats to Leila Gonzalez Fong on winning 2nd place for her art in Albricias. This is the nationwide magazine for the Hispanic Honor Society. 

Powder Buff Volleyball 

Attention high school students – want to play in the powder buff volleyball game on March 9th? There will be a table outside the cafeteria during high school lunch to get your permission slips and pay your $5 fee. The first 20 boys to return their forms and their fees will be put on a team.
