Good morning! Today is Wednesday, September 23rd.

This week is Celebrate Freedom Week in the state of Florida, and as such, the Florida Department of Education has asked that we conduct an oral recitation of the Preamble of the Declaration of Independence excerpt. By the end of the week, you will probably be able to say it along with me!

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Do you love science? Do you love competition? Join the Science Olympiad team! Science Olympiad is a club that allows you to compete against other schools in science events, including biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Any high school student interested in joining the Science Olympiad team is encouraged to check out the club page on the P.K. Yonge website and fill out an interest form. We will be meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 2:40 in Mrs. Davis’s Zoom Room. We hope to see you there!

Tickets are now on sale for the P.K. Yonge fall play, 10 WAYS TO SURVIVE LIFE IN QUARANTINE!  This hilarious comedy is suitable for all age groups.  Ticket order forms are on our school website. 10 WAYS TO SURVIVE LIFE IN QUARANTINE is presented October 8-10th, so get your tickets today!

There will be an open gym Saturday morning for all middle school students interested in playing basketball. The event will be from 9-11am in the gym and is limited to 30 participants. If you are interested please send an email to to reserve your spot. Face masks are mandatory, participants are asked to bring their own water bottle. Please arrive early so all COVID screening protocols can take place prior to entering the gym. Don’t forget to sign up and reserve your spot.
