Today is Tuesday, August 27, and it is an A Day.

Please remember that campus closes at 4 PM daily.

Student aides need to visit the business office TODAY during your aide period to get your IDs. Dual Enrolled students and students completing virtual coursework off campus need to visit the business office TOMORROW to get IDs to show the gate guard in order to leave campus.

Auditions for the spring musical, Guys and Dolls, will be held  TODAY.

If you need to pick up transcript request forms or community service hours forms, they are available in the front office.  If you need to discuss either of these with Mrs. Flinchum, her office hours are between 2 and 4 PM.

Students who were listed on the driver’s education list should plan on meeting in Mr. Mathien’s computer lab (Q 506) TOMORROW from 1:50 until 2:40 pm for the orientation class. If you have any questions, or can’t  be there, please see Coach Kent Johnson in the gym prior to that date. It is very important that you be there, because we have a long waiting list of students interested in taking the class.

Students Traveling to China This November:
There is a meeting for travelers and families on TODAY at 6pm, in I-104. (The very first classroom on I-Wing at the top of the Front Circle.) Please make every effort to attend. We will be reviewing airline ticket payment and visa application information. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Henderson in the Front Office, Dr. Cordero, or Mr. Kovach.

Hello all middle school students!  The Middle School Acts of Random Kindness Club will have its first official meeting of the year on Friday August 30th during lunch.  We will meet outside the cafeteria under the awning.  Our tables will be covered by blue tablecloths. Join us!  We perform random kind acts and have fun! See Mrs. Ireland if you have questions.

Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30 is our TECA day. Taquitos, Empanadas, Croquetas and Arepas will be sold during these two days after school near the gym. Please support the Hispanic Honor Society.

Marine Science students–our first Marine Science/Outing Club meeting of the year will take place TODAY during high school lunch in Ms. Andrews’ room.  Come and help us plan our field trips!

Attention seniors – this year is full of lots of important dates.  We’ve worked out a way to help you keep track of it all. From the PK website, you can go to the Senior Corner page (under class pages) and join the Remind class for text reminders.  Also on the website is a link to a constantly updating newsletter with important information. You may also add the Google calendar from the website to your own calendar. This calendar has been compiled by all the senior teachers and includes all the important dates.  Don’t miss out!

​The next Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers chapter meeting will take place on Thursday, August 29th during lunch in Room M-344, Ms. Brewster’s room.  If you are interested in joining this amazing club focused on engineering, internships, & STEM careers, please stop by Ms. Brewster’s room to receive a lunch pass prior to Thursday.

Roaring Riptide High School Engineering/Robotics Team will meet on Thursday after school from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Our main focus will be on our upcoming Magic Wheelchair project, current open assistive technology projects, and upcoming pre-season outreach and competition events.  The meeting will be held in M-344, Ms. Brewster’s room. All high-school students interested in engineering or competitive robotics are welcomed to attend.

Congratulations to the middle school girls volleyball team for defeating Lake City Middle School last night, two games to nothing.

There will be a Girls Basketball interest meeting this Wednesday after school in the gym aerobics room. All girls 6-12th grade who are interested, please attend.

Attention high schoolers: Are you interested in upping your fighting game skills? Think you already have what it takes? Today at 2:30 the Tournament Arc club will have its first meeting in Mr. Mathien’s room.  We’ll discuss club guidelines, activities, and what the club is all about. Come visit after school to learn more.
