March 20, 2018

Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Tuesday, March 20th and it is a B Day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to our PKY Thespians!

They attended the prestigious Florida State Thespian conference last week: attending shows, taking workshops from Broadway stars, and learning in masterclasses from the best in the business.  In addition, their duet musicals ( Ambition and Unsuspecting Hearts) and large group musical piece (Telephone Hour)  took high honors and received an EXCELLENT rating in competition.  Their large group acting ensemble piece (Bang, Bang), solo musical (Vanilla Ice Cream) and duet (Forever Yours) all took SUPERIOR rating— the highest rating awarded at State competition.

CONGRATULATIONS, PKY THESPIANS!

Reminder that any fundraisers must be approved by administration.  If you are selling items on campus without permission, this includes candy, your items may be confiscated.

PK Yonge Health Smart Committee asks for your participation in a simple five-day program aimed at encouraging kids to eat more fruits and vegetables.  Each day of the PACK five-day program is assigned a different color to help children focus on broadening their selection of fruits and vegetables. For more fun, wear something to match the color of the day! Check out the bulletin board outside the cafeteria for more details! PACK week will kick off next week March 19th-23rd.

Are you constantly hungry? Are you always craving sweets? Well look no further! There will be a $2 bake sale to benefit the Humane Society. Tomorrow and Friday, come to front of the gym between the end of school and 3:30pm to buy cookies, brownies, cake pops, and much more.  Everything is $2 and 100% of the profits will be donated to the Humane Society. Come and join us to help raise money for these special animals!

Signing up for the Blood Drive will end today.  Anyone who is 16 year olds will need a parent permission form to give blood. Everyone giving blood must bring their photo ID this Thursday which is the day of the drive. Students can sign up for a timeslot with Aaron Prendergast before, and after school, as well as at lunch.

Any student 15 years of age or older that’s interested in taking driver education at the Traffic Safety Center this summer, can go to the Alachua County Schools website and register on line, or see Coach Johnson to get the information.
