CONGRATULATIONS to our PK Thespians!

Our Thespians had an incredible experience in Tampa last week, at the Florida State thespian conference!  Alex Barba & J Nixon received superiors on their monologue IE’s as well as their Senior Scholarship Auditions. Austin Halvosa received superior on his musical theatre solo.

The Ball, PK’s choreography competition piece was rated excellent, and scouted by Broadway Theatre Project, and Broadway choreographer Debra McWaters, with all performers involved being offered scholarship funds to attend the summer performing intensive project at Broadway Theatre Project!  J Nixon took Top Honors and received a medal for monologue competition! Our students took masterclasses taught by Broadway performers, attended performances, and made memories to last a lifetime! Congratulations, PK Thespians!

All students going on the trip to China will meet in Dr. Cordero’s room after school on Thursday to plan for the car wash fundraising event this coming Saturday.  Hope to see you all then!

Varsity and JV Football Cheer tryouts will be TODAY from 3 – 6 PM in the gym.  Please pick up a tryout packet from the front office of online from the cheer website

Seniors! There are new additions to the Spring scholarship newsletter. Please check it out on the School Counseling Twitter or the School Counseling portion of the website.

Seniors! The College information and Readiness Club is bringing U-day to PK. On May 1st, the senior class is invited to celebrate their college commitments by wearing any shirt from the school they’ve chosen to attend. On the same day, seniors are also invited to sign their name on the College Board in the cafeteria at lunch. Show your post-secondary school spirit, Blue Wave. You’ve earned it!

The football team will be holding tryouts for place kickers and punters, every Tuesday and Thursday in the month April. Soccer players are greatly encouraged to tryout. If you are interested, please come see Coach McDonald or send him an email on Canvas. Kicking is a valuable skill set and a great way to be a part of the football team!

REMINDER: slushies will only be sold during the first half of the lunch period in order for you to have time to consume them before heading back to class. For middle school, this means from 11:50-12:05 (Wednesday 12:05-12:20) and high school 12:30-12:45 (Wednesday 12:35-12:50).

NO SLUSHIES should be taken out of the cafeteria area.  We are having issues with them being spilled on furniture, chrome books, and other things. Teachers, NO SLUSHIES should be allowed inside ANY classrooms. Students, if you plan on having a slushy, buy it at the beginning of the lunch period and finish it before you head back to class.

Lifeguarding for the City of Gainesville is a great job! If you are interested in being trained to become a lifeguard, you need to register for the lifeguard clinic.
