Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Tuesday, March 13th and it is an A Day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Dance Marathon is hosting a dance in the gym on Saturday, March 17. Tickets will be on sale for $5.00. You can purchase tickets in M-344 or in Mr. Lightbourne’s office during Middle School & High School lunch starting on tomorrow. The dance will start at 5pm and will be end at 11pm. Chick-fil-a and Dominos will be served. Activities include Zumba, dodgeball, photo booth, various Carnival games, basketball, and a raffle. The dance will feature theme hours including Disney hour, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s hours, and Rave Hour. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to UF Health Shand’s Children’s Hospital.

Are you constantly hungry? Are you always craving sweets? Well look no further! There will be a $2 bake sale starting today to benefit the Humane Society. For the next two weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, come to front of the gym between the end of school and 3:30pm to buy cookies, brownies, cake pops, and much more.  Everything is $2 and 100% of the profits will be donated to the Humane Society. Come and join us to help raise money for these special animals!

Attention students, faculty & staff: Please mark your calendars for March 16th 7 PM for the Baketball Cop Foundation’s 3rd Annual High School Allstar game being held at Buchholz High School.  Come cheer on our own Allstars – Tony Garner and Will Banks – as they attempt to beat the cops for a third straight year.  The cops team is pretty confident this year, so our guys could use your support.

Anyone interested in playing football should come meet Coach McDonald today at 3:30pm in the weight room.

Power Hour:

Attention high school students. The University of Florida is holding their annual Chem-a-Thon on Friday, April 27th, a chemistry competition, where students compete for individual and team prizes. There will be an individual test, a team chemistry quiz bowl competition against schools from around the state, a walkthrough of some of the research labs, and an exciting chemistry demonstration. Interested students should bring their lunch to Mr. McCrea’s room (O-361) on Thursday, March 15th during Power Hour to sign up for the team. Depending on turnout, tryouts may be needed.

High School National Honor Society members must see Dr. Weller ASAP to pick up their lollipops.

Reminder that the outside cafeteria lines will be open during Biscuit Break to cut down on the long lines inside.

Are you interested in playing intramural basketball during Power Hour? Sign-Up with Coach Barrett during Power Hour in front of the Cafeteria.
