Announcements, Tuesday

February 20, 2018

Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Tuesday, February 20th and it is a B Day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The Spring Musical, Pippin had a successful opening weekend.  Shows will continue this week on Thursday PM, Friday PM, Saturday at 2 PM, and Saturday at 7PM. Get your tickets online or in the business office.

Attention 7th – 12th graders: Are you interested in performing poetry or spoken word? The 4th annual Alachua County-wide teen poetry showcase will be held on February 25th, 2018 at 5pm.  The goal is to have students across the county be highlighted for their poetic gifts.  Last year, several of you performed with the GHS poetry club and they would like you to join them again.  If you are interested, or need more information, please see Mrs. Koppitch in the library.

Some reminders about afterschool time in the library:

Remaining in the library after school is a privilege.  If you are in the library, you are expected to be completing homework, reading, or quietly doing something constructive.  If you continually abuse your library privilege, your parent will be contacted to make alternative after school arrangements for you. After you sign in at the library you should only leave to go to the parent pick-up area.  It is expected that you keep all your belongings with you.  Do not leave your belongings unattended in the library. Thank you for helping keep our library environment productive and peaceful.

Dr. Geiger would like to thank the Student Government and all of you who came out to share your ideas at last week’s dress code town hall meetings.  Having your voice represented in the process of our dress code revision is important.  Thanks for taking the time to express your views.

The Pennies for Patients Campaign continues until the end of this month.  Every donation makes a difference!  Donations help families of cancer patients pay for medicines, doctor visits and other treatment-related expenses.  Keep up your generosity with Pennies for Patients campaign!

Attention sophomores and juniors – are you interested in being part of the executive internship program next year?  You can receive school credit for working in a field of your choice.  Come to the library during Power Hour today for more information.

Seniors:

Also, Seniors – Grad Bash is April 13th. The cost is $75. Money and permission slips can now be turned in for Grad Bash to the business office. Turn it in by this Friday if you intend to go.
