Good morning! Today is Tuesday, September 21st.

Today is Coach Brunson’s birthday.  If you see him, wish him a happy day.  Yesterday was Ms. Macy Geiger’s birthday.  Belated birthday wishes to her as well!

Congratulations to the Varsity golf team who placed 2nd in their flight of 15 teams yesterday at the Crutchfield Hawkins Invitational. Ian Lentz won the tournament in a 4 hole playoff, while Katelyn Huber placed 6th and both David Krzkowski and Charlie Tumminia had career lows.

 Students who will be taking the FSA ELA Writing and Reading Retake exam will be testing this week: Today (Tuesday, September 21); and Thursday, September 23. Students are to report to 1st Floor Blue at 8:00 AM for testing. Testing should end for most students by 10:00 am with extended time running until 11:30 am. Students are to bring their Chromebook and charger for testing. Chromebooks should be fully charged.

UF is offering a live webinar discussing their Career and Workforce Dual Enrollment program. All students, parents, CTEs and school administrators are welcome to attend, Thursday, September 23 at 6:00 p.m. You must register at the link found on the counseling canvas page under the announcement called “Career Workforce Dual Enrollment Program”.”

 Attention Seniors – Last chance to take your Senior Portraits for the yearbook is on Monday, September 27th!  Pictures will be taken on campus during the school day. If you are purchasing these portraits, you must pay the session fee ($25) at the time of the picture, or beforehand online at SWIPHOTO.COM/SENIORS.  Girls should bring a tank top to wear under the formal drape, and boys should wear a solid white t-shirt. For any questions, please see Mr. Mathien.

There will be a letterman jacket fitting on Monday, September 27th from 12-1 in the lobby of the gymnasium. Please locate the letterman jacket form on the athletics website for ordering information. Those that bring their order form and check for payment can place their order that day.

Any high school girls interested in playing in the Powderpuff football game on Tuesday, October 5th should sign-up with Coach Barrett at lunch beginning on Tuesday. Cost to play us $5 and it’s first come first serve until the slots are filled.

 “Attention members of the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. We have a meeting TODAY, Tuesday, 9/21 during lunch around the big tree. All are welcome.

For any Girls in Grade 6-12 interested in playing Girls Basketball this year. We  will be having a interest meeting on Wednesday September 29th  in the gym right after school. See you there.

Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized and celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15. This year’s theme will be “Celebrating Hispanic-American Community Leaders and Champions”.  Student essay contest winners will receive a 4-Year Florida College Plan scholarship provided by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. Friday October 1st is also the Homecoming Parade at 8:45am, the Homecoming game at 7:00pm, and the Homecoming Dance after the game until midnight. We hope to see you there!
