September 8, 2020

Good morning! Today is Tuesday, September 8th.

Great news from the cafeteria:  Beginning today, all students can receive free breakfast and free lunch from the cafeteria due to a USDA food grant program through December.  You simply go through the line and pick up your meal — no money, no numbers, no charges. Bon appetit!

Fall baseball starts today.  Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6 PM.  Students in grades 6 through 12 can participate if they have a current sports physical on file with Coach Barrett.  Bring your own cleats, glove, hat and a mask. If you have any questions, see Coach Brunson at lunch.  He will be the one in the baseball hat.

Student government elections will take place next week.  There are open positions in 11th grade for Secretary and Treasurer.  Nominations, including self-nominations, must be posted by Thursday, September 10th via a link on the 11th grade ELA Canvas page.  There are also two run-off elections for 11th Grade Class President  between Brandon Jeong and Laci Herron and for 9th Grade Treasurer, between Aiden Ford and Kaitlan Szymanski. There will also be elections to fill a few openings for senior class officers, so seniors look at your Senior Class Canvas Page for details.  Voting for 9th and 11th grade positions will take place on Monday, September 14th.

Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Have a great day, Blue Wave!
