September 1, 2020

Good morning! Today is Tuesday, September 1st.

Thank you to everyone who has been wearing masks, sticking with your cohort group, and practicing physical distancing.  Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Auditions for the fall play, 10 WAYS TO SURVIVE LIFE IN QUARANTINE, are Thursday September 3.  Info about audition signups are on the Performing Arts Facebook page and Instagram.  Feel free to contact any PKY thespians, visit the Thespians club page or Ms. Snyder directly! Come to ZOOM and audition for this hilarious play about life in quarantine!

Our first thespian club meeting of the year will be this Thursday during lunch! Please join us for info about district thespians and club events!

Student drivers — please remember that the direction of the parking spaces has changed and you can only enter into the parking spaces after circling around in front of the gym.  Please do not drive in the reverse direction.  The first and last rows of spaces — those closest to and farthest from the gym — are reserved for faculty and those needing disabled parking.

Attention seniors:

Painting parking spots for seniors will be Saturday, September 12th, from 9 am – noon.  Paint brushes and paint will NOT be provided.  An additional painting date will be announced if needed.  For specified paint and more information, check out the links on the Senior Corner page of the website, and in the Canvas course. Please note that paint that does not match the specified paint will NOT be allowed to be used on the parking lot.  On school days, you must be in your spot by 8:00 am, otherwise that spot is available for other cars to park.  For more questions, see a Senior Class Officer or Mrs. Koppitch. Remember, to paint a parking space, you must have a parking decal; pay the $10 senior parking space fee and reserve your spot in the business office before Saturday, September 12th.

Seniors – We want to keep you and your families informed on all things Senior-year related. This year all seniors are enrolled in a Canvas course for updates, reminders, and important senior information.  The Senior Newsletter, the Senior Key Dates and Costs, and Volunteer Opportunities will all be accessible through the Canvas course, as well as on the Senior Corner part of the P.K. Yonge website. For any other questions, please contact Mrs. Koppitch.

High schoolers – need to get some more volunteer hours in during COVID times? We’ve come up with some ideas for you. Look for Volunteer Opportunities under the Counseling page on the P.K. Yonge website for more information.

Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Have a great day, Blue Wave!
