January 11, 2022

Good morning! Today is Tuesday, January 11th.

Hey high schoolers, now’s the time to step up and help your friends and classmates. If there’s a particular subject in school where you excel, contact Coach Mac to learn more about our new peer tutoring program. Peer tutoring is a great way to help your friends do better in school and earn your service hours.

As we return to school, changes continue on our campus.  It’s important to respect our property by cleaning up and being aware.  An example is having our  PK library up and running again!  We’re excited to share the new space with everyone, but please respect the area so we can keep it nice. Do not move around the shelves or the furniture, put your trash in the trash cans – not the shelves – and check your books out at the front desk. Mrs. Koppitch will be available in the space 1st-3rd periods on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 3rd period on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Classes may sign up to come check out books and do research.  For those students who would like to check out books at other times, please let Mrs. Koppitch know through the P.K. Library tab in canvas and she’ll set up something with you.

Seniors – welcome back!  If you didn’t get a chance to order a senior shirt before winter break, you still have time.  Please fill out the form in the senior canvas course, or scan the QR code on the fliers around school to order yours before Friday!  You may pay with a card in the business office, or with a check to the front office. Either way, make sure you fill out the form so we can get your correct size.

Students, we regret that your spring schedule may not be exactly what you prefer. We are doing everything we can but please understand that in some situations, nothing can be done and you won’t get the exact schedule you’d like.

We also want to remind you NOT to come up to the front office to meet with counselors about your schedules. If you have any questions or concerns about your schedules, please Canvas message your counselor first.

JV and Varsity Baseball Tryouts will be held NEXT MONDAY, January 17th at 1 PM.  You must have a sports physical on file with Coach Barrett in order to try out.  Please see Coach Brunson during lunch if you have any questions.

For anyone interested in playing football for the blue wave, spring football workouts begin today at 2:45 in the weight room. This is open to all current PK students in grades 6 through 11. If you have questions or need more information please attend today’s first session and if you cannot please see Coach Doelling, McDonald or Courtney during the school day

Seniors. Cap and gown portraits will be taken here at PK on January 31st and is the only time they will be taken. There is no fee, cap and gowns will be provided and it is recommended that guys wear a white dress shirt and dark tie while the ladies should wear a V-neck top.

Congratulations to the ms boys and girls basketball teams who defeated Keystone Heights last night. Good luck against Lake Butler this Thursday

Congratulations to the varsity boys soccer team who defeated Palatka last night 11-1. Come support the team on Wednesday vs Duval at 4pm. Senior night will be at halftime

Please pause for a moment of silence: Hang up and start again for the pledge

Please stand for the pledge:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Have a wonderful day Blue Wave!
