Today is Coach Brunson’s birthday.  Wish him a happy birthday if you see him around. 

Hispanic Heritage Month Performances

The Hispanic Heritage Month Performance is today. Please be in your seats BEFORE the start time. The shows start at the following times. 

  • 8:45am for Grades 8 & 9   
  • 10:00am for Grades 10-12 11:00am for Grades 6 & 7 and Students will go to lunch from the PAC.
  • 12:30pm for Elementary School  

No BluePrint Today

The BluePrint Club WILL NOT be meeting today. Looking forward to seeing you next week!

Gym Closed After 3 Today

The gym will be closed to students after school today starting at 3 to set up for tonight’s home volleyball game. 

Home Volleyball Game Tonight

Volleyball has a home game tonight. The start time changed and is now 6pm!

Seniors – picture day makeup is Monday. It’s your last chance to be included in the senior section of the yearbook!

School Picture Day for undergraduates is Tuesday, September 26. Look your best!

Seniors – CS Hours

Seniors – Need more community service hours? How about helping out at the homecoming dance on Friday, Oct. 13th? Sign up for a time slot for the Friday, Oct. 13th event. Look for the link in the senior canvas course announcements.

Boys Soccer Interest Meeting

There is an interest meeting for the PKY boys soccer program on Monday, September 25 at 2:45 PM in the first floor green 116 in the secondary building for all 6-12th grade boys interested in joining the program. 

Home Football Game & Pep Rally

Come out and support our Blue Wave varsity football team this Friday at PK Yonge against Hawthorne at 7:00. The student section theme is neon/destruction zone. The student section is only reserved for the first 5 minutes of the game so get there early!!

There will be a pep rally this Friday at the end of fourth period to support our Blue Wave varsity football team. We will have games and music, so dress up in your best Blue Wave gear. 

Homecoming Court

9th-12th graders, it’s time to nominate your choices for Homecoming Court. Check in canvas for your grade level’s nomination forms. Nominations are open until next Monday, September 25th. The top 3 from each grade will be on the ballots for Homecoming Court.

SG Chipotle Night

Celebrate Taco Tuesday AND support your Student Government! Head to the Chipotle on Archer Road on Tuesday, September 26th from 5-9 pm and tell them you’re with P.K. Student Government. Rather take out instead? No problem, you can order online and use the code 9MDYJ3A. All funds raised will go towards more student events like pep rallies, winter market, and homecoming.

Common App Help

Mrs. McElroy will be available after school, Thursday, 9/21 in the library commons for any students needing assistance with Common App.  Bring your Chromebook and questions.  Mrs. McElroy will help you with anything you help with.

MS Basketball Interest Meeting

There will be a meeting on Wed right after school on the elementary basketball court for all boys interested in trying out for the middle school basketball team. 


All NHS members there is a meeting September 21 at lunch! This is for all members.

MS Art Competition

PK is holding a competition for 6th-8th grade students who would like the chance to have their artwork hanging in our State Capitol! The Art in the Capitol Competition will be accepting submissions now through the deadline of Monday, October 16th. Please bring your submissions to either Mr. Moody or Ms. Johnson no later than October 16th. The winner will be announced Monday, October 25th. See Mr. Moody or Ms. Johnson if you have any questions!


Attention 7th and 8th graders!  National Junior Honor Society is holding the first meeting of the 23-24 school year on Thursday, September 21 after school in Mrs. Fab’s classroom (Blue 210).  Current members, as well as those interested in applying, are encouraged to attend.  You can also find information posted in the second-floor commons.
