Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Thursday, May 17th and it is a B Day!

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Today is K Day, hopefully you are dressed like a King! Tomorrow is J day, be sure to wear jeans, jewelry, or a jersey!

 

Attention Students: Yearbooks are now available for purchase. The staff will be selling yearbooks during lunch on Mondays and Fridays for the remainder of the year. You may also purchase copies at the business office. Price is $70.

 

The application process for all sixth and seventh grade students interested in becoming a member of the National Junior Honor Society is open. The requirements include a cumulative 3.4 GPA for 7th grade students and proficient in all core classes for 6th grade students.  Interested students must complete an application form that is available on the club page of the school website.  Students can also get an application for directly from Dr. Cordero or Dr. Breil.  The application is due tomorrow!

 

Athletics:

 

There will be an interest meeting for next year’s Cross Country team on Wednesday, May 23rd right after school in Coach Hazan’s portable.  All newcomers welcome and returners bring your friends!

 

Seniors:

 

Please pay the $10 for Senior Banquet today or tomorrow.

 

Water day is tomorrow. It starts at noon at the top field and we will enjoy a feast prepared by our own Coach Powers. Hopefully the weather will cooperate but we will eat well no matter what!

 

P.K. Yonge seniors, the end of the school year and graduation get a little bit closer every day, and along with them, the senior banquet. Please submit any and all photos or videos that you would like to be shown in the senior memories slideshow at the banquet to any of your class officers. There isn’t much time left, so be sure to do it ASAP.

 

Seniors, in order to receive your tickets at graduation rehearsal, you must complete the senior survey which is located on mr Beyers class page. Do it today!

 

The IT Department will be open for Chromebook returns from SENIORS ONLY from  8:00AM-3:30PM on May 21st, May 24th,  & May 25th.

 

Prior to check-in, please have the following items ready for inspection:

 

1) Original School-Issued Chromebook – MUST BE CLEANED & HAVE NO STICKERS on the device, other than the original rectangular barcode sticker

 

2) Original Chromebook Case

 

3) Original Chromebook Charger – THE CHARGER MUST HAVE THE WHITE BARCODE STICKER with YOUR NAME VISIBLE on the sticker.  We will NOT accept store bought chargers or other after-market chargers as a replacement.  

 

**Please do not return your items prior to completing Mr. Beyer’s exam.  He will provide time for you to return items on exam day. **

 

If you have lost or damaged items, you will need to complete payment in the Cashier’s Office, prior to graduation. 

 

If you have specific questions about Chromebook returns, please contact Mr. Locke or Ms. Brewster in Building Q, Room 501.

Seniors, please remember to fill out a “Final” transcript request form and turn in to Mrs. Flinchum or Ms. Bryen to have your transcript sent to the College you are going to attend.

Power Hour:

 

P.K. Yonge’s High School Robotics Team, Roaring Riptide, will hold Interest meeting for club applicants after school  today at 2:45 p.m..  If you are interested in applying to join this club, please plan to attend this meeting.  Our club is a year-round club, with many opportunities at the school, local, and state level.  Interest meetings will be held in the portable next to the gym.  Look for the Roaring Riptide sign on the end of the portable.  We hope to see you there!

 

High School National Honor Society Members –

 

Seniors – please come by Dr. Weller’s room to get your graduation cord.  If you have not turned in your lollipop money, you will not receive your cord.

 

Juniors – please come by Dr. Weller’s room if you are interested in being an officer next year.

 

Anyone who has not turned in their lollipop money to Dr. Weller by Friday will be subject to disciplinary action – sorry, but the money was due on April 13th.
