Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Thursday, May 3rd and it is a B Day!

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Today is U Day.  Be sure to wear UF gear or something from your favorite University or dress like a Unicorn. Tomorrow is T Day which means it is twin or triplet day and you can wear tan, turquoise, or a tutu.

 

Health Smart Tip of the DayTired during school? Make sure you are getting enough sleep to stay healthy! If you are between the ages of 6 and 13, it is recommended that you get 9 to 11 hours of sleep each night, and if you are 14 or older, you should get 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night.

 

Attention PKY students, this week is your last chance to pre-order a yearbook. Please visit the business page of the PKY website to order a copy today. All pre-ordered copies will be distributed May 7 & 8. Any remaining copies will then be sold to those who have not pre-ordered. Don’t miss out!!!

 

Do you want to spend your summer diving into springs and exploring swamps? Do you want to empower yourself as leader for Florida’s environment and communities? Join the Young Leaders for Wild Florida, a two-week environmental leadership summer program for teens in Alachua County.  If you are ages 16-19 and interested please visit Walk for Wild Florida’s website and select Young Leadersfor Wild Florida.

 

Nominations for Student Council elections will continue today. Please nominate a student in your grade level to run for your class’s President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer positions. You cannot self-nominate. The nomination process will end today. Please go to your Social Studies teacher, or M-344, to pick up a nomination form today. Forms can be turned in to your Social Studies teacher or submitted directly to M-344. If you have any questions please see Mr. Lightbourne. Don’t forget to pick up a speech outline form as well!

 

Juniors! There will be a Senior Project review session tomorrow in the PAC during Power Hour at 11:50am. All Juniors should be in attendance for this important information session. Come prepared to find out information about choosing a topic and beginning the research process. We look forward to seeing all Juniors in the PAC tomorrow at 11:50am

Seniors:

 

Seniors, please vote for the Master of Ceremonies at graduation!

There is a link on Mr. Bice’s class page, Mr. Beyer’s class page, on Mr. Fabulich’s class page, as well as the Upperclassmen Page on the website.  The system is set up to monitor that each student only votes once.  You will need your PK Yonge Google login information in order to access the link.  Voting is open now and ends on May 9th.  The MC will be announced at the Senior Awards night on May 14th.
