Today is Thursday, April 11th and it is a B Day.

Congratulations to the following members of the track team who competed at the district championship yesterday and advanced to the regional meet in Tampa on April 27th: the men’s 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay, Tamia Vanover in long jump, Del Ducharme in Discus and Shot Put, Laci Herron 3rd in the 1600m and 3200m, Ian Flores 3rd in the 3200m, Nymera Presley 2nd in 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles, Zuriel Reed in the 200m and 2nd in the 400m dash, and Jaren Hamilton in the 200m dash and District Champion in the 400m dash.

Prom tickets are on sale in the business office for this week only. Tickets are $45, and students must bring a signed permission form in order to get a ticket. Please be sure to ask the business office for the correct forms for you and your guests. Prom is on Saturday, April 20 from 8 PM to 12 AM.

Attention Project Lit members – we’re meeting during lunch on Friday.  Remember to bring your books to return and one to talk about!

Mu Alpha Theta will meet Friday in Mr. Bice’s room during lunch.

Anybody who is interested in getting community services hours this summer with Camp Blue Wave, please come by room R259 or the after school pick up table and get an application this week.

AP and Honors 2D will be displaying their work at the Harn Museum of Art for the month of April! Please join us for the opening reception TONIGHT at 6pm. See some great art and stay for Museum Night!

The football team will be holding tryouts for place kickers and punters, every Tuesday and Thursday in the month April. Soccer players are greatly encouraged to tryout. If you are interested, please come see Coach

McDonald or send him an email on Canvas. Kicking is a valuable skill set and a great way to be a part of the football team!

Middle School National Junior Honor Society members please meet in Mrs. Beckett’s room TOMORROW during lunch.  We will plan our last service project of the year.

The University of Florida Police Department is considering wrapping the vehicle used by our School Resource Office with a design that would designate the vehicle as our special SRO vehicle.  They are asking for proposals from student artists. These can be created by individuals or teams. Designs must be turned in by the end of April. Mr. Moody and Mrs. Johnson have been provided with examples of this type of car wrap.  There is also a flier in the front office window with examples to get your creativity flowing. If you have any questions, please see Officer Savona.

All of Mrs. Snyder’s classes and Mr. Cunningham’s 3rd and 6th period classes will be relocated to accommodate testing tomorrow and Thursday.  Students, please look for the posted locations on the classroom doors and give yourselves a little extra time if you have these two teachers on your course schedule.

Attention ALL Juniors: There will be a meeting for the “rising class of 2020” TOMORROW during lunch. SWI will be discussing senior portraits and other important senior-related information. The meeting will be from 12:30 – 1:00 in Mr. Mathien’s room (Q-506). Bring your lunch and any questions you may have. See you Friday.

All members of the Hispanic Honor Society, our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 17 during lunch.
