ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

 

Tickets for the 2018 Prom, Midsummer Night’s Dream, will be on sale in the Business Office from Monday, April 9th to Wednesday, April 25th. Tickets are $45.00, and all juniors, seniors, and guests must complete dance forms before purchasing tickets. Guest students from other schools need to have the Dean of their school sign the form. Guests must come with the attendee to turn in all forms together. Forms are available from Mr. Lemstrom and Mr. Beyer. Hope to see you there!

 

Ladies Learning to Lead is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping middle school and high school young women prepare for college, careers, and life.  The organization is holding their Annual Leadership Conference from May 18-20th at the University of Florida.  Participants will have opportunities to attend sessions on topics such as STEM, the arts, careers, civic engagement, strategic thinking, meeting and eating etiquette, principals of networking, job preparation skills, social and professional communication, life skills and more. In addition, they will stay overnight in the dorms to experience a taste of college life.  The final deadline for registration is April 15th.  The cost is $125, but there are scholarships available. Any student 15 years of age or older that’s interested in taking driver education at the Traffic Safety Center this summer, can go to the Alachua County Schools website and register on line, or see Coach Johnson to get the information.

 

ATTENTION high school students: Auditions for next year’s Vocal Dimensions and Women’s Chorale will be held after school on Tuesday April 10th in room A-104 in the Performing Arts Building. There will be a sign-up sheet on Dr. Harris’s Door. Please prepare 16 measures of a Broadway song for your audition. If you have any questions, see Dr. Harris.

 

Attention Middle School Performing Arts Students:

There are exciting changes and new courses being offered in Performing Arts next year here at PK! Auditions will be held for the select middle school class, called ON STAGE! on Thursday April 19th! If you will be a 7th or 8th grader next year, and want to be considered for this high level performing group, please sign up for an audition time in room A-104 in the PAC.

 

Seniors:

 

Santa Fe College offers a program called the College Achievement Program (CAP), which provides incoming freshman six weeks of summer enrichment before beginning college in the fall. Seniors, If you are interested in applying to this program, please come pick up an application from Ms. Bryen. Applicants must be returned to Ms. Bryen by April 5th at 4:00 PM. If you have any questions, feel free to email Ms. Bryen at mbryen@pky.ufl.edu.

 

Power Hour:

 

There will be a Black Student Union meeting tomorrow during Power Hour in Ms. Boehm’s room L353. See you there!

 

Football Cheerleading try-outs for both JV and Varsity will be on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday April 11-13 from 3:30-5pm in the gymnasium.  Please pick-up a try-out packet from Coach Barrett or the Front office.

 

The next Science Olympiad meeting will be on April 8th.

 

The food truck will be back at PKY on April 10th! Don’t miss out!
