Good morning! Today is Thursday, February 10th.

“Seniors looking for scholarships? Three $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to those students in good standing, accepted to a college or university, and declaring a major in law enforcement or education. If this sounds like you, you can find the application under the announcement on the counseling canvas page.  Completed applications can be turned in either personally or electronically to Ms. E or Mr. Chambliss by Friday, February 25, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.”

 Middle and high school students–two creative writing contests run between now and April. The Alachua County library contest is open to all poems and short stories, and the Veterans for Peace contest accepts poems about war, racism, injustice, hate, environmental harm, and inequality. We know you have amazing things to contribute— check Canvas for posted information!

 Congratulations to the boys’ varsity basketball team who defeated Bishop Snyder 52-50 in the district semifinal last night. Good luck Friday at the district championship at Providence

Hello amazing middle school artists! Art Club will meet today after school in Ms. Johnson’s room. We are painting! See you on Thursday.

Student drivers…SLOW DOWN. We are seeing too many of you speeding through the peanut roundabout and crosswalk. Stay alert and be mindful of people walking in the area, thank you.

 “Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) is excited to have launched the second year of their Florida Wild for All Scholarship. Interested in natural resources management or protection of the environment of Florida? This might be the scholarship for you.

Selected recipients will be awarded $250-500 for the 2022-2023 school year, which can be used for expenses as they relate to pursuing a career path in the environment and/or natural resource management fields. Applications will be accepted online or by mail and are due no later than March 1, 2022 and Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before April 15, 2022.
